Technology Review Wiki

Exploring new and emergent technologies is extremely important to the teaching and learning process. You will be able to explore technologies of interest to you as an educator. Select a technology below to begin exploring. If you are interested in something other than listed, contact your instructor for approval. You will explore at least two technologies and post information to the class Wiki page for your classmate to learn from. You are also required to critique at least one post listed by your classmates.

The links are just a beginning point. You must explore additional sites for more information. You may even want to explore the AU Library Database for additional information.Use the library tutorials to refresh your skills for using the online database.

You will need to sign up for an account and add an image of yourself so others in the class can link names and pictures. It makes for a more connected community.

This assignment is designed for you to demonstrate your proficiency of researching new and emergent technologies. You are required to identify two different technologies of interest to you as an educator. After researching and becoming proficient in these technologies, you need to share your findings with the class on the class wiki page http://autechfall08.wikispaces.com. In addition to posting two narrative descriptions of your technology, you need to explore at least one of your peer's posting.

Assignment Requirements

• Researched at least two technologies from approved list. Gathered information from at least three resources for each technology. References must be added at the end of each post.
• Detailed reviews are posted to class wiki page (http://autechfall08.wikispaces.com).
• Technology is described in great detail with appropriate links and references for others to explore technology. Information about its educational application is also included.
• Peer’s posts are explored and comments are made. The information identified by original author needs to be explored and verified as well as a critical critique of the posting.
• Assignment provides a clear understanding of integrating technology into the classroom for the teaching and learning process.
